Terry Lankford was born in Austin, Texas. He is a graduate of Abilene Christian University (1975) and has a degree in Industrial Technology. He moved to Lueders, Texas at the age of one. His father owned and operated a Limestone fabricating business and his mother was a nurse. His background is in woodworking along with 10 years experience in the Limestone quarry and fabricating business. His greatest “woodworking” accomplishment is the building of the Marty Leonard Chapel at the Lena Pope Children’s home in Ft. Worth, Texas. He started working full time with Mesquite wood in 2001.

Terry’s wife, Susan, was born and raised in Abilene, Texas. She is a retired Educational Diagnostician with a Master's degree in Education and currently works with Terry, managing the office and keeping the website current. They are the parents of two grown children. Kelly is CEO of the Concho Valley Electric Cooperative in San Angelo, Texas. Kina is an Art teacher at Wylie Junior High in Abilene. Justin, Kina’s husband, is a Firefighter with the Abilene Fire Department and is also a Taxidermist.

Of course, we have to mention the canine part of the family.  Max and Millie are German Shepherd’s that live at the shop. Millie has all the barking rights and does not let Max bark at anything! Angel and Trigger are German Shepherd’s that live at the house along with Lorretta (a mutt that is retired from guarding the Mesquite business) and Joey, a Dachshund that has house privileges. Our first grandchild just arrived so the canines will not be getting any recognition in the future.

We currently have one full time employee and one part-time college student.

We are members of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, Abilene Better Business Bureau, GoTexan (Texas Dept. of Agriculture) and the Texas Mesquite Association.

We hope you enjoy our work as much as we do making it.
